A WOMAN who was great-grandmother to ten, has died at the age of 94.

Margery Isabella Sleeman, who died on 10 May, was born in Hetton-le-Hole, and lived most of her life in Hetton-le-Hole, until she recently moved to Hollis Way, Southwick, Trowbridge.

Mrs Sleeman had been practice manager at Hetton-le-Hole Health Centre, and previous to that she had been PA to the marketing director at an aluminium wire and cable company in Swansea.

Mrs Sleeman had two daughters, a son, eight grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.

A service in memory of Mrs Sleeman was held on May 27 at at Semington Crematorium.

Margery took an active part in life in Hetton-le-Hole until the family moved to Swansea in 1971.

She was a member of St Nicholas’s Church, Hetton-le-Hole, along with the rest of her family, and she was a keen fundraiser for the new church hall.

Because she had worked for may years at the local doctor’s surgery, she also knew many people.

Hr daughter, Margery Grant, said: “ Throughout her life she had been involved in many village activities, particularly after she had retired. She was well known for her sense of humour and friendliness.

“She was very much family-oriented and will be much missed by us all.”
