A NORTH-EAST NHS trust suffered temporary IT issues which left staff unable to access emails and some files, The Northern Echo understands.
On Wednesday, the County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust experienced technical problems with some of its IT systems.
The Echo understands that although none of the issues caused disruption to patient services or care, staff were unable to access their work emails.
The County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust confirmed it had not suffered any malicious attack to its systems.
A spokesperson said: “The Trust uses over 100 systems and, during planned routine maintenance, three of these were affected for around an hour.
"We have plans in place for these rare occasions and there was no disruption to patient services or care.”
