REGGIE the Patterpoo and his owner breathed a sigh of relief when firefighters came to his rescue yesterday.
The adventurous pup had strayed too far when walking near Hill End, on Bollihope Common, in Weardale, and he fell down a steep slope.
A County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service crew from Consett station, along with on-call personnel from Stanhope, were called to the scene to rescue him.
A brigade spokesperson said: "Thanks to the swift action of our crews, he was safely rescued using working at height equipment and ladders much to the delight of Reggie’s owner."
