A FURTHER nine people have died after testing positive for coronavirus in the North-East and North Yorkshire.
Figures published on Saturday afternoon revealed a total of 1,666 patients had now died in the region's hospital since the start of the outbreak.
One NHS trust recorded four further deaths in the latest reporting period, while other trusts saw gradual increases.
The total number of patient deaths recorded by each trust - as of 5pm on Saturday, June 6:
County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust - 242 was 240
Gateshead Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust – 131 no change
Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust – 195 was 194
North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust – 129 was 125
South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust – 241 no change
South Tyneside & Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust – 322 was 321
Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust -114 was 113
York Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust – 210 no change
Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust- 68 no change
Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust (mental health) – 7 no change
Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (mental health) – 7 no change
Total: 1,666 was 1,657 the day before
