POLICE and fire crews are still searching a house to make sure nobody was inside, as was reported, after a fire ravaged the entire building.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS) was called to a serious fire at a three-storey, semi-detached house on Cross Road, just off Toller Lane, at around 2.38am this morning.

Three crews from each of Fairweather Green, Shipley and Bradford Fire Stations rushed to the scene.

The fire was rampant when they arrived and the entire building was involved.

West Yorkshire Police was called to assist at around 2.42am.

Officers helped immediately evacuate the three neighbouring properties, which were at risk.

The residents arranged their own alternative accommodation.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire and were still at the scene today damping down.

The house was reported to be unoccupied at the time and there have been no reports of any injuries, according to West Yorkshire Police.

But, due to the severity of the blaze and the damage caused to the house, firefighters can currently only access half of the building.

They are continuing to search to make sure there was no one in the house, as reported.

The house is in an unsafe and uninhabitable condition.

Police closed nearby roads this morning from Toller Lane to allow for the safe management of the scene and to allow the fire service to tackle the blaze.

There was heavy traffic on the major Bradford B6144 route following the fire.

Traffic was blocked off both ways between Bavaria Place and Toller Lane because of the incident.
