A MOTORCYCLIST who suffered serious injuries following a crash with a car on Monday has died in hospital, police have confirmed.
The 37-year-old man was involved in a collision with a Nissan Note just before 2.30pm, on the A182 at the junction with East Durham Garden Centre.
The man was flown to hospital but later passed away.
The driver of the Nissan, a 74-year-old man and his passenger, a 72-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw the vehicles being driven beforehand.
They would also like to hear from anyone who may have dashcam footage of the collision or the lead up to it.
