ORMESBY village have launched a scarecrow competition, supported by Tees Valley Rural Action and Tees Valley Community Foundation.

Janice McColm from the Tees Valley Rural Action, said: “Hopefully it will bring a smile to peoples faces as they go past. It is the first time this area has done anything like this. #scarecrowstogether2020.”

Residents are asked to design their own scarecrows and display them in either their front window or front garden.

The competition is running from today until Monday (June 1).

It will be judged by Neil Green from BBC Radio Tees, with prizes for adult and children entries.

Prizes have been donated by Uppals Off Licence and Tees Valley Rural Action.
