The HEAD of the ICL Boulby mine in East Cleveland has expressed his pride in the efforts of staff in achieving new milestones in teamwork and production during the Covid-19 crisis.
In a video message general manager and vice president Andrew Fulton highlights the company’s essential role in supplying fertilisers to UK farmers during the pandemic- the mine is the first and only producer in the world of the multi-nutrient mineral polyhalite, marketed as Polysulphate.
Mr Fulton also thanked the efforts of front-line NHS staff, care workers and essential workers for their efforts ‘day in day out, hour by hour, in support of us all.’
Staff at the mine join in on the weekly clapping for carers.
At the same time as maintaining significant production during the crisis- including setting new daily records for polyhalite processing- the company has developed a comprehensive programme of measures to protect staff.
