REDCAR and Cleveland Borough Council has thanked residents for keeping their distance when visiting Dunsdale tip in Guisborough.

Since reopening last week, more than 1,700 cars have accessed the site. Strict rules had been brought in to protect the health and safety of the public and staff due to the threat of Covid-19.

As expected in the first few days, queues formed early in the morning as people respected the social distancing measures, but the queues and demand soon dispersed as the day went on.

From yesterday (Friday, May 15), vehicles that need permits to access Dunsdale will be able to do so. The site will be open to permit holders from 7am until 9am.

Permits are required for: vans or vehicles based on a van chassis – Tourneo, Berlingo or Transit Custom; cars with trailers; campervans; flat bed transit type vehicles; flat bed 4x4 pick-up trucks - L200, Ford Ranger, Amarok, Navara.
