Police are investigating the attack
A MAN is in hospital with serious injuries after he was stabbed.
The incident happened at around 11.30pm on Thursday in a grassed area in the rear lane of Dene View, on Salter’s Lane in Shotton Colliery, near Peterlee.
The victim, a man in his thirties, was assaulted with an unknown weapon and sustained significant injuries.
He was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
Anyone who has any information that could help the investigation should call Durham Constabulary on 101, and ask to speak to PC 2807 Cloke in Peterlee CID.
Alternatively, information can be passed on to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555-111.
