POLICE have issued appeals following a spate of burglaries in the York area.

One happened in Hob Moor Terrace at 8.10pm on Friday, March 20 when at least two suspects forced their way into the victim’s home using a baseball bat.

They then fled in a five-door silver or light blue coloured car.

One of the victims, a woman in her twenties, was attacked in the street outside her home.

Luckily, she did not sustain any injuries but a very distinctive gold Buddha pendant was stolen during the incident.

The second happened at Crompton Farm on York Road between approximately 9.30pm on Wednesday, April 22 and 5.10am on Thursday, April 23 when a grey Mitsubishi L200 pick-up truck was stolen from the farm and driven through fields in the surrounding area causing substantial damage.

The vehicle was later recovered.

North Yorkshire Police is also appealing for witnesses and information about an attempt burglary that occurred in Copmanthorpe, near York, in St Nicholas Crescent around 10pm on Tuesday, April 21 and involved people shining torches through a side window which was slightly opened.

No access was gained but it is believed this was their intention.
