A DRAMA group has released a video to mark the first performance of a show which has been indefinitely postponed due to coronavirus.

Strictly Musicals 3 is the latests production by Darlington Operatic Society (DOS) and was set to take the stage of Darlington Hippodrome on April 22. But it has been postponed due to social distancing guidelines.

Marking the date, the group put together a virtual choir to perform One Day More, from Les Miserables, which can be found on the group’s Facebook.

This video, directed by Jo Hand and Steven Hood and produced by Scott Akoz, allowed the cast a sense of performing on the night.

A spokesperson for the society said: “We wanted to mark what would have been opening night with some sort of performance.

“A virtual choir seemed to be the natural choice and the video is the culmination of two weeks of recording and editing.”

“The response to the video has been amazingly positive and we look forward to bringing Strictly Musicals to the Hippodrome stage as soon as we possibly can.”
