POLICE discovered more than they bargained for when they were called to a house to deal with an incident.

When they arrived they found Craig Wilson in possession of a quantity of cannabis and cocaine, some of which he had attempted to flush down the toilet.

The drugs, worth few hundred pounds, were recovered in March 2018, Teesside Crown Court heard.

Jenny Haigh, prosecuting, said Wilson was charged with possession with intent to supply Class B drug cannabis and possession of Class A drug cocaine.

She said: "The police found at the house a small amount of cannabis bush in the kitchen, a quantity of cannabis bush and two small bags of cannabis in the toilet bowl, four bags of white powder from the defendant's jacket, he admitted that was his own cocaine, and inside the jacket was a tin with seven packets of cannabis bush inside it."

Miss Haigh said Wilson's mobile phone was analysed and messages were discovered in connection with the supply of drugs.

She said Wilson was also charged with four breaches of a restraining order in October last year after contacting his former partner, who the court heard was pregnant with his child.

The 34-year-old, of Emmetts Garden, Ingleby Barwick, Stockton, pleaded guilty to all six charges.

In mitigation, Andrew Turton said his client's former partner had invited him round to the house to rekindle their relationship despite the restraining order being in place for several months.

Judge Howard Crowson jailed Wilson for six months for the drug offences and two months concurrent for the breaches of the restraining order.

He said: "With a bit of luck you will be able to put it behind you when you are released. The first offence was possession of drugs, the cocaine was for your own use but the cannabis was sold to fund your own use.

"You were supplying people you knew, you were not corrupting people, they were just other users."
