POLICE have seized a number of bikes and power tools which officers believe may have been stolen.

Officers from Darlington Police executed a magistrates' warrant in Esk Road on Thursday night and recovered a number of items, which are thought to have been stolen.

A Cannondale mountain bike, Specialised mountain bike, Carrera e-bike, industrial pressure washer and Makita power tools were seized during the raid.

A 40-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods while a 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft and breaching a court order.

A 31-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of breaching a court order.

A spokeswoman for Durham Police said: "It’s business as usual when it comes to targeting criminals and our team in Darlington has been busy."

Officers are now trying to trace the owners of the property.

Police have not been able to release images of any of the items but are asking anyone who believes they may be the owner to come forward.
