THIS year's Cleveland Show has been cancelled due to the coronavirus.

Organisers are now promising that the popular free annual event will be "bigger and better than ever before" when it returns in 2021.

In a statement the secretarial team behind the show, Val Thomson and Sue McGlade said: "We are very sorry but due to the Coronavirus we, like many other events, have had to take the hard and difficult decision to cancel this year's Cleveland Show.

"We will be back however, bigger and better than ever before in 2021 and our commitment to make this the biggest and best one day free entry event in the North-East remains.

"We can't wait to see you all for a great free day out when the Country Comes To Town, at Stewart Park, Middlesbrough, on Saturday, July 24 2021! And remember it will be totally free to get in!"

The Cleveland Show, which usually takes place every fourth Saturday of July, is the biggest one day agricultural show in the North-East.
