A NEW project has been launched to support young people across Britain.

Housebuilder Persimmon Homes is behind the The Building Futures scheme, which aims to support community groups working with under-18s in education & arts, health and sport.

Permission will make donations between £1,000 to £100,000 to grassroots sports groups, charities dealing with physical and mental health issues, as well as community projects. The homebuilders have partnered with Team GB, the British Olympic Association, and world championship silver track and field medallist Laviai Nielsen to launch the scheme.

Kevin Thubron, director for Persimmon Homes Teesside, said: "We will consider anything from new clubhouses and kit, to education and arts centres, medical research and support groups."
