KYLIE Minogue and Elton John were joined by more than 70 other stars who thanked our NHS workers for their work during the coronavirus pandemic.

As people across the region turned out in their streets to clap, cheer and shout in support for NHS staff and key workers keeping Britain going, a host of celebs made their mark.

Last night appearing in an almost four-minute long video, celebs including the likes of David Beckham, Graham Norton, Daniel Craig, Stormzy and Jonathan Ross showed off their own 'Thank You NHS' signs.

In the heartwarming video, each celebrity gave their own thanks to our NHS workers across the UK - see it for yourself here:

Stars who didn't appear in the video instead took to social media with their own 'Thank You NHS' signs before striking a pose and raising yet further awareness of our emergency service workers.

'It means alot to our NHS staff'

Ruth May, Chief Nursing Officer for England, said: “I want to say a very big personal thank you to everyone in the NHS and social care that are working so hard right now.

"And I also wanted to say thank you to those people that are re-joining our NHS at this time in our COVID-19 response.”

“I know that messages of thanks and support mean a lot to our NHS staff, whenever they happen and whoever they come from – but for so many huge celebrities to go out of their way to show their appreciation will be an extra special boost, alongside the heart-warming displays of gratitude shown by the public.

“This is the biggest challenge the NHS has ever faced and celebrating those working hard to save lives every day is more important than ever, so I’m sure everyone will benefit from some uplifting music to keep spirits high right now.”
