WHILE on his daily round a Boldon postman has been brightening residents' days by dressing up in a different fancy dress costume.
Jon Matson, 39, has dressed as a cheerleader, Cleopatra, Little Bo Peep, a Greek soldier, a Hawaiian dancer and Where's Wally.
Jon said: "Obviously doing this round I know everyone on a personal level, when the lockdown started, everyone changed, I saw how frightened people were. I had a draw full of outfits off doing the Boxing Day dip, I run into the sea, I had a few outfits from that."
Jon has received wide-spread positive feedback with his story going international.
He said: "It's fantastic, I am still a bit concerned about going to work. My family is at home and I still have to go out. Seeing what impact it's having, it helps to keep my mind off it and helps to get through each day."
Jon delivers post in West Boldon and Bolden Colliery - where he also lives.
People have now donated fancy dress costumes to Jon, from as far as Wales, who have followed his story.
