Three men have been arrested after police stopped a vehicle in Marton Road, Middlesbrough, yesterday (Tuesday).
The white Volkswagen Golf was stopped by officers at around 3.20pm.
Officers searched the vehicle and the men, police recovered a handgun and suspected class A and B drugs, believed to be cocaine and cannabis.
A 17-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm without a certificate.
An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm without a certificate and possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of specified controlled drug above limit, possession of a firearm without a certificate and possession of class B drugs.
All three remain in police custody at this time.
