THREE men have been arrested in connection with a spate of burglaries.

A number of businesses in Middlesbrough were targeted in the early hours of Saturday, March 21 and Sunday, March 22.

A total of eight premises were reportedly targeted, with burglaries at Croft Stores in Croft Avenue and Hillsons Newsagents in Cargo Fleet Lane.

There were also reports of attempted burglaries at at Middlesbrough bus station, S & T News, in Crescent Road, Fix a Phone in Parliament Road, Family Shopper in Overdale Road, Daisy’s Convenience Store in Bourton Court and Booze 4 Us on Lealholm Crescent.

Police have arrested three men aged 29, 24 and 26 on suspicion of burglary in connection with the spate of incidents.

A scooter and motorbike were also recovered from the males. 

All of the incidents happened between 2.40am and 5am.

The men have been released under investigation whilst enquiries continue.

Officers are still appealing for anyone who witnessed the incidents or anyone with information regarding the males responsible to contact Middlesbrough CID Officers on 101.
