THE Prince of Wales is now out of self-isolation after testing positive for coronavirus last week.

Prince Charles had gone into self-isolation along with Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, after showing mild symptoms of COVID-19.

A spokesperson for Clarence House, the royal residence, confirmed Prince Charles had tested positive, but remained in good health.

But this afternoon Clarence House confirmed the Prince of Wales had now come out of self-isolation at his Birkhall home in Scotland.

A Clarence House spokesman said: "Clarence House has confirmed today that, having consulted with his doctor, the Prince of Wales is now out of self-isolation."

It comes as there are now 19,522 cases confirmed across the UK - while 726 have been reported in the North-East and North Yorkshire as of Sunday, March 29.

Across the UK, the Department of Health has said 1,228 people have died after testing positive for COVID-19.
