CLEVELAND Police have said a big thank you to an eight-year-old for a thoughtful gesture he gave to police amid the coronavirus crisis.

Yesterday morning, Neighbourhood Officer, PC Rachel Booth was patrolling an area of Grangetown when young Kody shouted from his garden for Rachel to go over.

Kody had been out in his garden every day waiting for an officer to walk past so he could hand over some treats to say thank you to police for all of their hard work.

Cleveland Police said: “Thank you so much Kody, you have brightened up lots of officers day with your thoughtful gifts.”

PC Booth said: “It was a lovely surprise to receive the treats from Kody and he put a huge smile on my face when he shouted over with them.

“It’s a tough time for emergency workers at the moment and it’s gestures like this that really lift our spirits.”
