FOUR teenagers have been arrested following a burglary in Darlington.

During the break-in, which happened at around 10pm on Tuesday, the suspects stole whisky and other items from a property in Barmpton Lane before driving away from the scene in a car.

At around 10.50pm, officers from the local response team and Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit stopped a vehicle on Thompson Street East.

They arrested the four male occupants of the vehicle, who were aged between 15 and 17, in connection with the incident.

A Durham Police spokesperson said: "They have since been interviewed by officers and released under investigation while enquiries continue."
