THE Tees Valley Mayor has apologised after suggesting workers employed to help build the MGT Teesside power plant had been made redundant.
On Wednesday, Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen posted a video claiming that Brand Energy & Infrastructure Services UK had laid off its staff without pay.
A statement online said: "It has come to my attention that the information in my posts earlier today about Brand Energy & Infrastructure Services UK Limited was untrue.
"They are currently playing all employees on MGT Teesside full pay and have not laid off any workers without pay.
"My information was wrong. I wish to apologise unreservedly for any harm caused to Brand Energy for this error."
