A MAN has appeared at court charged with the murder of Christopher Ritchie in Durham.
Jonathon Morgan, of Allergate, Durham, appeared at a hearing at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court today in connection with his death.
The 26-year-old did not enter a plea and was remanded in custody to appear at Teesside Crown Court on Tuesday.
Mr Ritchie died after he was stabbed in Mitchell Street, in Durham, just before 8.30am on Thursday, March 19.
A post-mortem examination confirmed the 41-year-old died as a result of stab wounds.
Anyone with any information that could help the investigation should call Durham Constabulary on 101, quoting incident number 56 of March 19.
