MATT Vickers the newly elected MP for Stockton South spent time at the North Tees Hospital’s A&E and National Award winning Urgent Care Centre seeing staff in action, triaging and treating patients.

It’s thought that the coronavirus crisis could affect as many as 80 per cent of the population, although the symptoms experienced by many will be mild and pose no risk.
The virus does pose a significant risk to one to two per cent of vulnerable people.

Mr Vickers said: “It was great to spend time alongside some of the heroes working locally in our NHS and to see their dedication and commitment first hand. North Tees has an award winning Urgent Care Centre and it’s clear to see why.

“The coronavirus is a huge, once in a lifetime challenge to any health system but ours is already receiving record levels of funding and this week we saw the government announce a huge package of support.”
