A preparatory school performed a synchronised dance on Friday.

Yarm Prep School gathered 235 children and staff to raise money for Sports Relief.

Led by headteacher, Bill Sawyer and organised by teacher Naomi Redhead-Sweeney the children managed to raise £3,500 – which will all go towards Sports Relief.

Mrs Redhead-Sweeney said: "I wanted to do something a bit different it was inspired by something I saw on YouTube. So, I thought lets do a big dance. One of our teachers choreographed a big dance which had the whole school involved from nursery to Year 6."

The schoolchildren and teachers danced for 20 to 30 minutes none stop.

The dance was videoed and has already received 12,000 views.

Mrs Redhead-Sweeney added: "The children absolutely loved it.

"In the past the school has done lots of charity work. We have done a couple of runs and lots of fundraising for schools outside of the country. It's a regular thing really."
