A man was arrested last night after a replica handgun was recovered following a police pursuit in Stockton.
Response Officers pursued a blue Ford Fiesta vehicle in Hardwick, Stockton, at around 7.30pm after it reportedly failed to stop for police.
The Fiesta reportedly drove into the police vehicle several times and the vehicle was soon after abandoned in Tilery.
A replica hand gun was found nearby by one of the police dogs, which officers believe was thrown out of the Fiesta prior to it being abandoned.
A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm in a public place and aggravated vehicle taking and currently remains in custody.
Anyone who may have sighted the vehicle prior or during the pursuit is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101 quoting 042615 with information.
