THE following cases were heard at the Peterlee and Newton Aycliffe Magistates’ Courts in the last week.

ADAM CHRISTOPHER BAINBRIDGE, 32, of Conyers Road, Chester-Le-Street, was fined £500 and made to pay £150 compensation after he assaulted a man causing him actual bodily harm on October 21, 2019. Bainbridge indicated a plea of guilt and was ordered to pay £50 to fund victim services and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

REBECCA FOSTER, of Bradley Street, Peterlee, was discharged conditionally for six months after she was caught in possession of amphetamines on November 22, 2019. The 32-year-old was ordered to pay £21 to fund victim services and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

SHAUN ANTHONY KELLY, 26, of Newcastle, was discharged conditionally for six months after he made of without paying a taxi fare on November 26, 2019. The Coniscliffe Avenue resident indicated a plea of guilt and was made to pay £21.80 compensation.

CARLY MALCOM, of the Aged Miners, Horden, was fined £40 for failing to comply with the supervision requirements imposed following release from prison on January 29, 2020. The 32-year-old admitted the breach.

STEPHANIE KIMBERLEY OLIVER, 28, of The Green, Chester-le-Street, was fined £120 and given six penalty driving points after she damaged a car after failing to stop and then failed to give her name and address to the motorist when being required to do so on January 2, 2020. Oliver pleaded guilty and was made to pay £32 to fund victim services and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

PHILIP ANDREW RUANE, 32, of The Bye, Consett, was fined £80 and ordered to pay £42.30 compensation after he failed to provide a taxi fare when required to do so on December 7, 2019.

SCOTT TELFORD, of Garden Terrace, Thornley, was discharged conditionally for 12 months after he was caught in possession on cannabis on March 28, 2019. The 27-year-old was made to pay £20 to fund victim services.

GILLIAN TORRENCE, 52, of Skipsea View, Sunderland, was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined £120 after she was caught behind the wheel whilst of the legal drink drive limit on August 19, 2019.

ANDREW WILKINSON, of Thorntree Gill, Peterlee, was fined £200 after he entered MIS Northeast Ltd, in Peterlee, as a trespasser with intent to steal on June 6, 2019. The 29-year-old indicated a plea of guilt and was made to pay £32 to fund victim services and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

NATHAN WILLIAM BALL, 25, of Lyonette Road, Darlington, was given a 16 week suspended prison sentence after he used or threatened unlawful violence during an incident on February 16, 2020. He was also up for a further count of assault by beating which took place on the day and was ordered to pay £200 compensation and given an additional suspended prison sentence.

PAUL MICHAEL DONOGHUE, of Stokesley Road, Brompton, was given a seven day prison sentence after he failed without reasonable excuse to comply with the supervision requirements imposed following a period of release on three occasions from June 11, 2019 to July 10, 2019. The 29-year-old admitted the breach and was ordered to pay £60 compensation.

MICHAEL STEPHEN GOROG, 26, of Stanley, was up in the dock after he breached a restraining order on March 2, 2020. The Lenin Terrace resident indicated a plea of guilt and was made to pay £32 to fund victim services and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

GARY LEE BUTTERIELD, of Collingwood Street, Coundon, was given a four week suspended prison sentence after he damaged an air vent on an Arriva bus on March 2, 2020. The 34-year-old pleaded guilty and was made to pay £200 compensation.

TERRIANN HODGSON, 28, of Appledore Gardens, Edmondsley, was handed a community order after she assaulted a woman on October 26, 2019. Hodgson pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay £50 compensation.

GRAHAM STEPHENSON, 47, of Dene Bank, Witton Gilbert, was fined £276 and given six penalty driving points after he failed to give information in relation to the identification of a motorist following an alleged offence. on October 17, 2019. He pleaded guilty and was also made to pay a £32 victim surcharge and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

CARL BLOWER, 31, of Prudhoe Avenue, Fishburn, was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined £120 after he was caught behind the wheel whilst under the influence of cannabis on December 14, 2019. Blower pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £32 victim surcharge.

MARIA SMITH, of no fixed address, was given an eight week prison sentence after she stole food and drinks on March 5, 2020. The 38-year-old indicated a plea of guilt and was ordered to pay £22.59 compensation.

JAY DEVINE, 31, of Dublin Street, Darlington, was discharged conditionally for 12 months after he damaged a front door without lawful excuse on February 20, 2020. He pleaded guilty and saw ordered to pay £180 compensation. He also also up in the dock after he damaged a cell belonging to Durham Constabulary on February 21. He was made to pay £150 compensation.

PAUL CLIFFORD HARRISSKITT, 47, of no fixed address, was up in court after he stole two bottles of Lambrini from a shop on January 1, 2020. He was ordered to pay £6.08 compensation.

KARL GAVIN JONES, 40, of Brandon, was given a suspended prison sentence after he assaulted two police officers on March 3, 2020. He was made to pay £150 compensation.

LEE SMITH, of Mill Street, Consett, was handed a community order after he assaulted a woman on March 3, 2020. The 36-year-old pleaded guilty and was also handed a restraining order and a £150 free. Smith was also ordered to pay a £90 victim surcharge and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

AMY JOANNE KELLY, 30, of Wilshire Place, Darlington, was up in the dock after she stole three bottles of fabric conditioner from a shop on November 20, 2019. She was handed a community order requiring her to undergo drug rehabilitation and made to pay £27 compensation.

RUSSELL WEARS KIRKUP, of Sidlaw Avenue, Chester-Le-Street, was given a 16 week prison sentence for stalking a woman. The 60-year-old was also given a restraining order.

THOMAS SCOTT ROBERTSON, 49, of Peaton Street, Middlesbrough, was given a suspended prison sentence after he assaulted a man by beating him on October 9, 2019. He was also made to pay £150 compensation and £90 to fund victim services.
