A NEW system for booking flights from Teesside airport is due to be available from tomorrow.

Eastern Airways has set up the system in the wake of the collapse of Flybe on Wednesday.

Passengers will be able to once again book flights from 10am through Eastern Airway's website.

The airline has also set up a dedicated support email address for passengers with a Flybe booking flying from or into Teesside Airport.

Both inbound and outbound passengers should email teesside.bookings@easternairways.com with their original Flybe booking information and Eastern Airways will transfer the booking.

Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen said praised the "phenomenal" speed of the operation.

He said: "The speed in which Eastern Airways have managed to get a whole new booking system up and running in the wake of the collapse of Flybe is phenomenal.

“Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the whole team at Eastern local people from across the region can once again fly from Teesside Airport to all four corners of the UK and Ireland as well as amazing holiday destinations.

“The last few days have not been the easiest for Eastern Airways, but their actions show just how committed the airline is to Teesside and our airport, and to doing the right thing for local people across Teesside, Darlington and Hartlepool.”
