ARRESTS have been made in connection with an attempted burglary in Redcar.

Two men have been arrested in connection with an attempted burglary at a jewellery shop on Redcar high street.

A police dog caught the pair after they fled from the scene.

Police were alerted of the attempt during the early hours of this morning, March 5, which officers from Response and the Dog Unit attended.

Two men reportedly made way from the scene but police dog Harley soon caught up. They were both then detained by officers.

The men, aged 40 and 52, were arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary other than dwelling with intent to steal and currently remain in custody.
