THE following cases were among those heard at Newton Aycliffe and Peterlee Magistrates’ Court during the last week.

STEVEN ANTHONY DILLISTONE, 21, of Brougham Terrace, Crook, was ordered to pay £10 compensation after he stole bread, biscuits, milk, crisps and sweets from Heron Foods on January 18. He was also discharged conditionally for failing to surrender to custody at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court on February 20.

ADELE MONAGHAN, of Corporation Road, Darlington, was discharged conditionally for six months after she stole razors and deodorant from Morrisons on September 26, 2019. The 31-year-old pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay £69 compensation.

JOHN DEAN HALL, 31, of Haswell, was given a 16 week prison sentence after he drove a vehicle at Gilesgate bank on December 7, 2019, while disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence. The Kingston Crescent resident was also given a one month concurrent prison sentence after he wilfully obstructed a police constable in the execution of his duty on the same date.

CRAIG CUNNINGHAM, of Ladysmith Street, Bishop Auckland, was discharged conditionally for six months after he was caught in possession of cannabis resin on February 4. The 40-year-old pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay £21 to fund victim services and made to pay £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

JOY ANGELA DOBSON, 41, of Western Terrace North, Murton, was discharged conditionally for 12 months following drunk and disorderly behaviour at Claypath, in Durham, on August 10, 2019. She was also found guilty of assaulting a police officer on the same date and made to pay £250 compensation.

ANDREW CRAIG DOOLEY, of Anfield Court, Darlington, was discharged conditionally for nine months after he was found in possession of amphetamines on October 14, 2019. The 32-year-old pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay £21 to fund victim services and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

NEIL PATTERSON, 57, of Ferryhill, was fined £120 and disqualified from driving for 12 months after he was caught behind the wheel whilst under the influence of a controlled drug on September 25, 2019. The William Street resident pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay £32 to fund victim services and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

ANTHONY TALBOT, of South View, Coundon, was in the dock after he assaulted a woman by beating her. The 28-year-old pleaded guilty and was fined £90. He was also made to pay a £32 victim surcharge and a £85 fee to the Crown Prosecution Service.

SHANE ASTON THOMPSON, 32, of Browney Court, Langley Park, was handed a community order after he damaged furniture and household fittings to the value of £800 on December 14, 2019. He was also given a restraining order and made to pay £90 to fund victim services, £800 compensation and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

JAMES FINCH, of Dale Terrace, Roddymoor, was fined £80 after he sent an email on August 5, 2019, which breached a non-molestation order made by Cantebury Family Court. The 33-year-old was made to pay a £32 victim surcharge and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

ALAN CRAIG BURROWS, of James Street, Earby, was discharged conditionally for six months following a breach of EU tachographs regulations on July 8, 2018. The 42-year-old indicated a plea of guilt and was made to pay a £20 victim surcharge and £85 compensation.

TONI DAVIES, 37, of Newton Aycliffe, was fined £80 after she failed to comply with the requirements of a parenting order between October 2019 and January 2020. The Lilburne Crescent resident pleaded guilty and was also made to pay a £32 victim surcharge and £85 compensation.

CLAIRE HEWITT, 31, of Park Road, South Moor, was given an order banning her from keeping pets and ordered to pay £150 after she was convicted of causing unnecessary suffering after failing to address a dog’s poor condition between September 2019 and October 2019. She was also in the dock for failing to take steps to ensure that the needs of a dog and three cats were met.

MICHAEL SMITH, of Poplar Street, Stanley, was in the dock after he stole ten bottles of washing liquid and 12 chocolate bars from McColls store, in Stanley, on December 28, 2019. He indicated a plea of guilt and was handed a community order requiring him to undergo drug rehabilitation. The 39-year-old was also ordered to pay £114.50 compensation.

REBECCA COMERFORD, of Coronation Avenue, Shildon, was handed a community order after she destroyed a window with intent to destroy of damage on December 5, 2019. She pleaded guilty and was also handed a restraining order and made to pay £100 compensation. The 35-year-old was also in court for assaulting a woman a day earlier by beating her.

THOMAS COPPING, 32, of Tivoli Place, Bishop Auckland, pleaded guilty to stealing meat and bottles of alcohol from the Co-op in Willington, on December 17, 2019. He was handed a community order ordering him to undergo drug rehabilitation and was made to pay £130 compensation.

ELLIS MICHAEL JAMES PEACOCK, of Hedgeholme, Winston, was fined £276 and disqualified from driving for 12 months after he was caught driving under the influence of cannabis on September 22, 2019. The 19-year-old was ordered to pay a £32 victim surcharge.
