A GREEN-FINGERED woman will open up her garden to raise funds for a migraine charity.
A longtime passionate gardener, Valda Walker from Yarm hosts a annual fundraising event in her garden to raise money for The Migraine Trust. The cause is one close to Valda's heart, as someone who endured chronic migraines as a young adult, with help from The Migraine Trust she was able to change her migraine treatment, which reduced the length of her migraine attacks to a few hours.
Valda said: “Migraine has had a significant impact on my life, from my working life to my social life, so I really want to help other people who are living with this awful condition.”
Entry to Valda’s garden is £2 and there will be tea, and plant, book and jewellery stalls. It is open from 1-6pm on Sunday 23 February, Wednesday 26 February, Friday 28 February and Sunday 1 March, and is located at 15 Manor Drive, Hilton, Yarm.
