LIGHTHOUSE Family – touring with their first album in more than two decades – will play a North-East gig this week.

Blue Sky In Your Head, the band's first studio album in 18 years, was released last year alongside an initial run of UK dates.

They are back on the road this week for a concert at O2 City Hall, in Newcastle, at 6.30pm on Friday, February 21.

The album is the band's fourth and sees them back on Polydor Records, their original label, and reunited with Colin Barlow, the A&R that discovered them, and Keith Armstrong, their first manager.

It includes Essentials – all the band's classic songs such as Lifted, High and Ocean Drive remastered to celebrate their 25 year recording history – along with singles Light On and My Salvation.

Tunde Baiyewu and Paul Tucker formed Lighthouse Family after meeting at Newcastle University in the early 1990s. Their 1995 debut album Ocean Drive was a slow-burning success, going six times platinum while staying in the album charts for almost three years.
