The cat was rescued from the fire in Durham
A CAT has been recused after a fire broke out in a kitchen.
Firefighters were called to the Carrville area of Durham at 12.30pm today.
A spokesman for County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews were sent in to extinguish the fire and ventilate the flat after a pan had been left unattended.
“Fur-tunately the swift action of our crews meant this kitty was rescued safely.”
