A MAN has been arrested following a burglary at a Sainsbury's Local store in Thornaby.
Police were called to a report of an ongoing burglary at the store on Westbury Street at around 5am on Tuesday morning.
Cleveland Police said: "A large amount of damage was caused during the incident.
"Officers located a male in a nearby address and recovered suspected stolen items from the property including bottles of alcohol and razor blades.
"The 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and he currently remains in police custody.
"Any witnesses who have not already spoken with police or anyone with further information is asked to contact Stockton CID on the non-emergency number 101, quoting event number 023291.
