Police are appealing to trace the owner of suspected stolen items which were located in Stockton.

Officers from response policing and the Cleveland Police Dog Unit carried out extensive searches for a man after a report of an attempted burglary in the Hartburn area in the early hours of yesterday morning, Sunday 9th February.

A man was stopped by police and officers recovered two items of jewellery.

Detectives are appealing to trace the owner(s) of the items, and would ask anyone with information to contact Detective Constable Kev Middleton from Stockton CID on the non-emergency number 101. A 43-year-old man was charged with a number of alleged offences in the Hartburn area. He appeared at Teesside Magistrates Court yesterday, charged with four dwelling burglaries, eight attempted burglaries, two counts of theft, theft of a motor vehicle and assault.
