A LIMITED number of places are available for charity in memory of a little lad who captured the nations hearts.

The Bradley Lowery Foundation is holding the first Run for Brad to allow charities and non-profit organisations to allow them to raise money for good causes close to their hearts.

The run will take place on March 29 at Herrington Country Park and entrants can choose between a mile, 5km or 10km course.

The Bradley Lowery Foundation was founded two years after he died from a rare form of cancer in July 2017 at the age of six.

It has since raised more than £3 million for poorly children, established a support line for families of children with cancers and donated money to researching childhood cancers, campaigned for new drugs to be introduced in the UK and plans to build a holiday home for sick children and their families.

Gemma Lowery, founder of the Bradley Lowery Foundation, and Bradley’s mum said: “Cancer can be a lonely illness for patients and their families. We were overwhelmed and helped enormously by the kindness of charities, non-profit organisations, and individuals who were touched by Bradley’s story. We’ve had a great response already to the Run for Brad event, and we hope that this will encourage even more people to get their running shoes on and raise some money for lots of really worthy causes.”
