A WOMAN has been jailed after failing to comply with a community order.
Rebecca Wahab appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court yesterday where she pleaded guilty to the offence and was subsequently resentenced for one count of criminal damage.
The 23-year-old previously of Churchill Square, Gilesgate, was given a community order in October last year after smashing a window with a glass bottle in Durham.
A probation officer said Wahab had failed to attend appointments in November and December which constituted to a breach.
Stuart Haywood, for Wahab, said she was struggling with the recent loss of her mother and her children going through the process of being adopted.
Sarah Cardew, chair of the bench, revoked the community order and resentenced Wahab to eight weeks in custody.
