A CHARITY is appealing to find volunteers who can walk dogs on behalf of pet owners who are struggling.
The Cinnamon Trust helps retired people and those in the latter stages of a terminal illness by offering all kinds of pet care.
The charity is looking for dog walkers in the Askrigg area, in North Yorkshire, to help a resident of the village.
A spokesperson for the charity said: "Many elderly or ill pet owners worry about their ability to provide proper care for their animals and start looking to rehome what may be their only companion.
"This is where our national network of dedicated volunteers step in to offer support enabling them to stay together."
Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer can download a registration form from www.cinnamon.org.uk or email at volunteer@cinnamon.org.
