A MAN has appeared at court after a robbery at Tesco in Darlington town centre yesterday.
John Richardson faced magistrates sitting at Newton Aycliffe today for one charge of robbery and one of possessing a sharp pointed article in a public place.
It is alleged that Richardson had a broken glass bottle in his possession and robbed a bottle of wine valued at £5 from the shop on Tubwell Row shortly before 9am on Wednesday, January 22.
The 55-year-old, of no fixed abode, entered no pleas and was remanded into custody pending a hearing at Teesside Crown Court on Thursday, February 20.
