A WOMAN who stole her father's bank card and spent more than £100 has been given another chance.
Jennifer Freeman, of Easson Road, Darlington, appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court yesterday charged with obstructing a police officer and theft.
Laura Croft, prosecuting, said the 27-year-old had been staying with her father when she took the bank card. Officers later found it in her dressing gown pocket.
Warren Ridley, mitigating, said: "She has some difficulty with drugs. She no longer resides with her father and has in fact been in a psychiatric hospital for a number of weeks.
"She bitterley regrets what she has done."
Magistrates gave Freeman a conditional discharge for six months and ordered her to pay £102 compensation.
