THREE men have appeared in court following a suspected stabbing that has left a man fighting for his life.

Shortly before 3pm Saturday, police received a report that a 46-year-old man had been found on Falla Park Road in Felling, Gateshead, with injuries consistent with a stabbing.

He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries where he currently remains in a critical condition.

Shortly after officers arrested three men in connection with the incident and later made two further arrests.

Now they have all been charged and appeared at South Tyneside Magistrates’ this morning.

David Lamb, 50, of Hewitson Terrace in Gateshead, has been charged with attempt murder and possessing an offensive weapon.

Paul and James Lamb, 52 and 26, both of Nursery Lane in Gateshead, have also been charged with attempted murder and possessing an offensive weapon.

All three have been remanded into custody and will next appear at Newcastle Crown Court on February 10.

A 37-year-old woman, who was arrested in connection with the incident, has since been released with no further action and a 51-year-old man has been released under investigation.

Detectives have launched an investigation and officers are asking anyone with any information to get in touch.
