POLICE are appealing for to find spiritual items which were stolen during a burglary at a home in Darlington

The house in Camborne Drive, Darlington, was broken into some time between December 22 and 27, while the victim was away visiting family.

Suspects broke into the house and ransacked it, stealing a number of items, including electrical devices and jewellery.

However, the main item that was stolen was a blue fabric bag with a silver bag inside that had the phrase ‘Carry with love’ on it.

Inside the bag was a cross and Blessed Sacrament that the victim uses to offer spiritual support to elderly people in the community.

Detective Constable Liam Robertson, from Darlington CID, said: “The bag and its contents has little to no monetary value, but has significant sentimental value to the victim and the loss will impact on the work she does in the community.

“We would appeal for the safe return of this item, which can be handed in to Darlington Police Station.”

Anyone with any information that could help the investigation should call police on 101, quoting crime reference number CRI00241537.
