The following cases were heard by County Durham and Darlington Magistrates’ Court sitting at Newton Aycliffe and Peterlee last week:

AARON David Davison, 26, of Prestwick Road, Sunderland, admitted criminal damage of a picture frame and candle holder at Stanley on August 31, 2019, and criminal damage of a Nissan XTrail belonging to the same man on May 30. He was ordered to pay compensation of £30. He also pleaded guilty to criminal damage of a Mini One car in Stanley on May 30, 2019, and was ordered to pay £160 compensation.

CHRISTOPHER WEEGRAM, 32, of High Northgate, Darlington, admitted breaching a community order made last July for an assault. The order was revoked and he was committed to prison for eight weeks.

BRYCE Scott Lucas, 20, of Parker Terrace, Ferryhill, pleaded guilty to entering Raby Road on August 13, 2019, which he was prohibited from doing by a restraining order. He was given a community order and a restraining order was made which lasts until January 7, 2022. He was ordered to pay £50 compensation, £90 victim surcharge and £50 CPS costs.

EDWARD WORTHINGTON, 37, of Jackson Street, Spennymoor, was found guilty of causing harassment, alarm or distress to a woman in Spennymoor on May 14, 2019. He was given a community order which includes a curfew requirement and up to 20 rehabilitation activity days. A restraining order was made and he was ordered to pay £150 compensation, £90 victim surcharge and £400 CPS costs.

KENNETH Chisholm, 33, of Simpson Road, West Auckland, pleaded guilty to driving a Renault Laguna at Frosterley on July 18 last year, whilst disqualified and without insurance. He was given a community order which includes 80 hours unpaid work and was banned from driving for six months. He was ordered to pay £90 victim surcharge and £85 to the CPS.

GARETH DUNN, 33, of Cleveland View, Fishburn, pleaded guilty to stealing a £12 bottle of Archers Schnapps from the Co-operative store, Sedgefield, and to assaulting a police officer on October 6 last year. He was given a community order with curfew and alcohol treatment requirements. He was ordered to pay £90 victim surcharge and £85 CPS costs.

ANDREW HUGILL, 30, of Aviemore Court, Darlington, admitted breaching an harassment order in Darlington on New Year’s Eve. A community order was made which included 100 hours unpaid work and he was ordered to pay £100 compensation, £90 victim surcharge and £85 legal costs.

JONATHAN LEE HIBBERD, 32, of Armadale Close, Stockton, pleaded guilty to driving a Skoda on the A1(M) at Durham at a speed exceeding the temporary 50mph limit on December 30,2018. He was fined £276, given five penalty points on his driving record and ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge. A charge of failing to provide information about the driver to police was withdrawn.

CONNOR MCKITTRICK, 38, of Surtees Road, Peterlee, pleaded guilty to being the keeper of a dog that was not microchipped within 21 days of being served notice. He received a three month conditional discharge and must pay £150 costs and £20 victim surcharge.

JAMIE DANN BRADLEY, 32, of Durham Road, Bowburn, pleaded guilty to stealing a credit card in Durham between November 26 and 29 and two charges of fraud by using a stolen bank card in Durham and Bowburn intending to make gain. He was fined £80, ordered to pay compensation of £33.56 and £23.80, £85 CPS costs and £32 victim surcharge.

BOBBY PETER PHILLIP EMBLETON, 33, of Bouch Street, Shildon, admitted two charges of drug driving in a VW Polo on Redworth Road on August 23. He was disqualified from driving for three years, given a 12 month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £21 victim surcharge.

KENNETH JOHN GREEN, 57, of Stanhope Close, Spennymoor, pleaded guilty to drink driving in a Ford Transit on Walkworth Lane on December 17. He was banned from driving for 20 months, fined £576 and must pay £85 to the CPS and £57 victim surcharge.

ROBERT JAMES STEPHENSON, 25, of Wellgarth Court, North Bitchburn, admitted two counts of driving a Subaru on North Bitchburn Bank on June 30, 2019, when the proportion of a controlled drug in his blood exceeded the specified limit and without insurance. He was banned from driving for 12 months fined £120 and must pay £85 CPS costs and £32m victim surcharge.

TOLGA JORDAN UYAN, 19, of No fixed abode, pleaded guilty to assault by beating and criminal damage of a shop sign to the value of £2,500 in Easington Colliery, on January 5. He was made the subject of a restraining order until July 6, 2020, and ordered to pay a total of £250 compensation.

RORY WHITEHEAD, 41, of Station Road, Stanley, appearing via video link from prison, admitted possession of class B drug amphetamine and because of the offence was in breach of a conditional discharge imposed last February. He was given an 18 month conditional discharge and must pay £20 victim surcharge.

STUART ANDREW CURTIS, 27, of Corporation Road, Darlington, pleaded guilty to stealing £40 Ralph Lauren slippers from TK Maxx on November 22 and £295 of razor blades from Morrisons the next day. He also admitted theft of Ted Baker sunglasses and a makeup bag from a woman; dishonestly receiving stolen goods, two charges of fraud by using a stolen bank card, all in Darlington on December 5. He was given a 26 week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months during which time he will be under supervision which will include a drug rehabilitation requirement. He was also ordered to pay a total of £94.82 compensation.

JAKE STOCKHILL, 21, of Elm Close, Northallerton, admitted breaching a community order by failing to attend two unpaid work sessions. He was fined £50 and must pay £60 costs.

ANDREW JAMES NIXON, 36, of The Four Alls, Ovington, pleaded guilty to drug driving in a VW Scirocco on the A67 at Gainford on September 1, 2019. He was fined £120, banned from driving for 12 months and ordered to pay £85 to the CPS and £32 victim surcharge.

SUSAN ELAINE SAMS, 47, of Bylands Close, St Helen Auckland, admitted drink driving in Bishop Auckland on December 21. A six month community order was made with an alcohol treatment requirement. She must pay £85 to the CPS and £90 victim surcharge. She was disqualified form driving for 36 months.

DANIEL PAUL SEAL, 22, of Hatfield Road, Newton Aycliffe, admitted drug driving in a Seat Leon on June 12. He was fined £252 and banned from driving for 12 months, ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge.

JAMIE WAYNE JACK WELFORD, 20, admitted dangerous driving in a Jaguar XF on Burnhill Way, Newton Aycliffe, on November 3. He was fined £906, ordered to pay £90 victim surcharge, £85 to the CPS and disqualified from driving for 15 months.

JOHN HESTER, 32, of Ash Terrace, Craghead, admitted driving a Vauxhall Corsa at Stanley on July 3, 2019, when the proportion of controlled drug diazepam exceeded the specified limit. He was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £120 and must pay £32 victim surcharge and £85 to the CPS.

COLIN PRITCHARD, 75, of Adrian Place, Peterlee, pleaded guilty to driving whilst disqualified and without insurance. He was given an eight week prison sentence, which was suspended for 18 months because he had driven a very short time after the ban was imposed and a short distance when no people were around. He must pay £85 CPS costs and £122 victim surcharge. He was disqualified from driving for 42 months.

FERGUS MATTHEW TOBIN, 18, of Snowball Close, Crook, admitted drink driving in Durham on December 27. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months, fined £78 and must pay £85 to the CPS and £32 victim surcharge.

MARC ANTHONY DILLON, 43, of Falmer Road, Darlington, admitted being concerned in the production of cannabis. He was given a community order with 15 rehabilitation requirement days and must pay £90 to fund victim services.

PETER LAMB, 53, of Derwent Haven, Hamsterley, admitted assault by beating of a woman in Consett on September 21, 2019. He was given a 16 week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, must pay £200 compensation and a restraining order was made.

BARBARA ANN SPOORS, 62, of Belvedere Road, Sunderland, admitted drink driving in a Ford Fiesta on the A690 at Carville on December 5. She was banned from driving for 24 months, given a community order with ten rehabilitation requirement days and must pay £90 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

DONNA RADFORD, 33, of Lumsden Terrace, Stanley, admitted drug driving at Catchgate on August 21 last year. She was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £120 and must pay £85 to the CPS and £32 for victim services.

ANDREW HARVEY ROBSON, 35, of Ladysmith Street, Bishop Auckland, pleaded guilty to driving a Mazda 3 when over the drink-drive limit on June 29, 2019. He was disqualified from driving for 24 months, fined £733 and ordered to pay £85 to the CPS and £73 to fund victim services.

NATHAN ANDREW TRANTER, 26, of Atherton Terrace, Bishop Auckland, admitted drug driving in a Mercedes 220 on August 11 last year. He was banned from driving for a year, fined £120 and must pay £32 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

BEN MICHAEL ROBINSON, 18, of Watson Close, Wheatley Hill, pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer by beating at Bowburn on Boxing Day. He was ordered to pay £150 compensation and £85 costs.
