THREE men have been arrested following a suspected stabbing this afternoon.
Shortly before 3pm today (Saturday, January 11), police received a report that a man had been found on Falla Park Road in Felling, Gateshead, with injuries consistent with a stabbing.
He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries where he currently remains in a critical condition.
Officers have arrested three men, aged 26, 50 and 52, in connection with the incident and a spokesperson for Northumbria Police said they remain in police custody at this time.
"An investigation has been launched and officers remain in the area as they continue to carry out enquiries.
"Anyone who believes they have information that could be useful to police should call 101 quoting log 705 11/01/20."
