ROADS have been reopened after standing water, which was flooding a Middlesbrough road, has been cleared.

This morning, diversions were put in place after a 'large amount' of water blocked Tees Dock Road, near Grangetown.

The water prevented heavy goods vehicles from travelling onto Tees Dock Road and caused significant traffic delays.

Throughout the course of the day local agencies were working to drain the water while a diversion was put in place to access Tees Docks via the steel house roundabout on Trunk Road in Dormanstown.

At around 4pm Cleveland Police confirmed Tees Dock Road has now been cleared and
roads reopened.

A spokesperson from the force said: "The large amount of standing water on Tees Dock Road has now been cleared and roads reopened.

"Thank you for your patience whilst local agencies dealt with the incident."
