A 'QUANTITY' of money has been stolen from a house in Darlington, leading to the launch of a dashcam footage appeal.

It is believed that a suspect broke into the property on Neville Road between 6pm and 6.45pm on Saturday, December 7.

Police investigating said they were keen to speak to motorists who may have dashcam footage from Millbank Road, Abbey Road and Elton Road between 5.30pm and 7.15pm.

Last weekend, thieves broke into the Bank Top Bakery on Victoria Road after "smashing" their way into the premises.

It's not known if the incidents are connected, but it was alleged that the suspects made off with a "significant amount" of money on Saturday afternoon.

On Friday, December 13, a Durham Police spokesperson urged those with information relating to the Neville Road burglary to get in touch with the force on 101 and quote reference number 370.
