A PROUD father who shared on Twitter the reaction the moment his wife turns on his baby daughter's hearing aids in the morning says he is astonished after the video went global with over 750,000 likes.
The family, Paul and Louise Addison with baby Georgina, from Harrogate, have now appeared on BBC Breakfast and the video has been posted around the world including on CNN in America, and Malaysia News among many others since he first shared it on twitter on December 5.
Georgina was diagnosed as severely deaf during routine screening in September shortly after she was born and now wears a hearing aid in each ear.
Mr Addison said: “You use these hearing aids and it’s like the lights have been switched on.”
In the video Georgina is heard squealing with delight when she hears her mum talking to her and saying good morning after the hearing aids have been put in her tiny ears when she wakes up and they are switched on.
Mr Addison said there had been an amazing global reaction to Baby Gigi, adding: “It’s been genuinely heartwarming.
"As a parent what I find particularly nice is people have shared their own stories with us.”
On Twitter Mr Addison says: “Thank you all again.
"We promise to keep you posted as she grows up.”
