ICE was forecast in Darlington on Saturday as the annual Ice Sculpture Trail made its return.
Huge slabs of ice were dotted around the town centre with members of the public encouraged to carve their own creations.
Jessica Rogers, 9, was pictured using a tool to remove the letter 'J' with a little bit of help at the one day event.
Not to be touched pre-sculpted works including an icy cast of the Millennium Falcon starship from Star Wars, and Rudolph the Red Nose reindeer, could be found across the town.
Locations on this year's trail included High Row, Clarks Yard, Market Square, the Cornmill and Queen Street shopping centres, Grange Road, West Row and Skinnergate.
Last year, an icy Aladdin made an appearance to coincide with Louie Spence and Zoe Birkett's performance of the show at the Hippodrome.
